The Red & White Appeal
Southampton Hospital Charity’s Red & White Appeal aims to create the transplant treatment centre of choice for patients with leukaemia and other blood disorders from Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Wiltshire, Dorset, West Sussex and the Channel Islands.
With the entire project costing just over £7million, £5million has already been secured from the Department of Health. This has funded a brand new extension to the hospital to house new rooms for patients with double-aspect windows and private bathrooms.
Southampton Hospital Charity are delighted to announce that the extension has been completed and patients are now benefitting from nine brand new state-of-the-art rooms.
Southampton Hospital Charity's goal is to raise an additional £2.2million to fund a purpose built Day Case Unit for patients, to be built next to the current inpatient facilities and the new extension.
The new Day Case Unit will create an oasis of calm and comfort, co-located with the inpatients facilities. There will be a choice for patients of private or social areas for their treatment, and the specially designed unit will enable medical staff to vastly improve the quality of care for all.
